Young adults are particularly vulnerable to employment scams and student loan repayment scams. If not actively seeking employment, it might seem obvious to us that someone is attempting to scam us. However, at some point, many of us have experienced unemployment and financial strain, or are drowning in student loans or other types of debt. We can become desperate and blinders go on. Scammers prey on our desperation and exploit this vulnerability.

To sum it up; if a company asks you to pay for certifications or large amounts of product upfront, or sends you a check and asks for money back, these are signs of a scam. Employers pay you, you don’t pay employers. Do some homework, look up the company online and see if there have been any complaints or scams surrounding them. With student loan repayments looming, many young folks are concerned with paying these back. If you need help with your student loan, talk to your official loan servicer and not a third party looking to steal your information.
