First Federal Bank Celebrated Baker County Little League Opening Day

First Federal Bank was honored to be part of a special Opening Day tradition as CEO and President, John Medina, threw the ceremonial first pitch at Baker County Little League’s season kickoff. The event took place at the Knabb Sports Complex on Saturday, March 21st, bringing together families, players, and community members to celebrate the start of another exciting baseball season.

This milestone moment comes as First Federal continues its strong investment in youth athletics and community development. Through a First Federal Foundation grant, Baker County Little League was awarded $50,000 to support Phase 2 upgrades at the Knabb Sports Complex. These funds will go toward the construction of a new concession pavilion, including air-conditioned family restrooms. Construction is expected to begin in May.

“Community sports are about so much more than the game,” said John Medina. “They bring people together, create opportunities for young athletes to grow, and help build the kind of strong connected communities we are proud to serve. We are honored to support Baker County Little League and invest in a space where so many memories will be made.”

Community sports programs play a vital role in strengthening neighborhoods and supporting families. From youth leagues to school athletic programs, these initiatives provide more than just competition, they foster teamwork, leadership, discipline, and confidence. Studies consistently show that participation in sports can improve academic performance, encourage healthy lifestyles, and help build lifelong friendships.

First Federal Bank remains deeply committed to supporting community sports. In 2025 alone, the bank invested more than $47,610 in community sports initiatives and has already surpassed that total in 2026.

First Federal Bank is honored to stand alongside Baker County Little League, celebrating not only the start of a new season but also the continued growth and spirit of the Baker County community.
